These are the head of departments for the various divisions within the Group as well as subsidiary managers who are respectively responsible for the leadership of four subsidiaries at Bicacon Group.
Meet the Team
Group Executive Chairmain
Thabiso is the founder and Executive Chairman of the Bicacon Group. He has more than a decade of public and private sector related experience which spans across sectors such as Water and Sanitation, Construction, Agriculture and Education, amongst others. Beyond his role at Bicacon Group, Thabiso is a member and Chairperson of infrastructure and finance committees for some of the local universities. He has also previously served on various company boards and national committees.
Group Chief Financial Officer
Tamara holds a B Com Accounting Sciences degree from the University of Limpopo and is currently studying towards a Chartered Institute Management Accountants (CIMA) professional qualification. During 2009, she completed her articles with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of the South African Institute of Accountants Tamara has more than 13 years’ experience in financial management and accounting which was accumulated while working at Land Bank and SAB&T – an Accounting, Audit and Consulting services firm. She has been instrumental in building out the financial business support capabilities of the Group.
Group Chief Operating Officer
Thabo holds a B Tech in Water Engineering, and a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Tshwane University of Technology and currently studying. He has extensive experience in infrastructure development, the built environment, project management, leadership and business development. In addition to his duties at Mainbic, Thabo is also responsible for business development and client liaison for all subsidiaries of the Bicacon Group. He is also one of the founding employees of the Group, raising through various positions within the company to the position he currently holds. He sits on the board of a non-profit organisation dealing with the education and mentorship of youths in rural and previously disadvantaged communities. He is passionate about service delivery, infrastructure development as an economic growth driver.
Group HR Executive
Priya holds a B Com (Hons) degree in Human Resources Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). She has also completed the Leadership Development Programme at GIBBS Business School. Priya is a member of the South African Board of Personnel Practitioners (SABPP) where she is a Chartered HR Practitioner, the Institute of Directors Southern Africa (IODSA), and the Business Women Association of South Africa (BWASA). Priya has more than 30 years’ experience in Human resources, accumulated
from working in at various companies with the last two decades having been spent at Senior and Executive levels. Throughout her career, she has been extensively involved in leading organisational transformation and delivering faster end-to-end solutions in the areas of skills, succession plans, performance management, attraction and retention. Her experience is spread across industries such as the Construction, Engineering, Automotive, Travel & Tourism, Manufacturing and Hospitality fields, amongst others.
Mauritz Van Der Walt
Bicacon General Manager
Mauritz has more than 36 years’ of experience in Construction Supervision, Project Management and Business Management. His experience extends into multiple construction industries which include the Civil industry (Road construction, Infrastructure development, Bulk water pipelines and other Civil industry related work), General building work (High-rise buildings, Housing projects and Commercial buildings) and Mechanical/Electrical projects (Pump stations, Sewer and Water Treatment Plants).
Mauritz has extensive leadership experience and has served as Director and Board member of numerous local and international Construction Companies. He is passionate about the development of systems, processes, procedures and policies in an effort to improve lean construction practices and increased effectiveness of operations for construction companies.
Engineerex General Manager
In addition to his duties at Engineerex, Bornapart is responsible for the formulation and implementation of the Bicacon Group’s corporate strategy. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Heriot-Watt University (United Kingdom), and a Master of Commerce degree in Economics from the University of Fort Hare (South Africa). Bornapart is a member of the following professional bodies: The Institute of Directors Southern Africa (IODSA), the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA), and the Southern African Asset Management Association (SAAMA). Bornapart has more than 10 years’ of work experience in research, business consulting, project and business management and corporate strategy formulation.

Conrad Van Rooyen
Bicasec General Manager
Conrad is a Co-Founder of Bicasec Risk Services. He holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree in Business Management and Finance from the University of South Africa and various industry related qualifications. Conrad has more than 11 years’ experience in providing guarding, monitoring and armed reaction security services, amongst others. Conrad has a specialised focus on industrial parks, malls, residential buildings and office parks, construction sites and mines.
